Why We Need Cable Pulling Lube.

Pulling lube may not be the first thought that comes to mind when preparing for an install, but it's a key factor to finishing the job quickly and effectively. When running cable, special care needs to be given to ensure the cable is not harmed during the pull. Excessive tension can damage the cable as it navigates around tight bends and, with enough force, can even damage customer's property. Just ask these guys...

Ideal Industries solves this problem with their Aqua-Gel and ClearGlide pulling lubes. Both lubricants are designed to make your install easier and each is tailored for specific installation environments.

Longer Runs

Aqua-Gel, 31-378, is best suited for longer cable pulls (up to 250ft). This non-flammable and environmentally safe lubricant provides maximum tension reduction in high-stress electrical and communications cable-pulling installs. 31-378 is a thicker gel which dries to a semi-fluid liquid in 24 hours. Clean up is fairly simple with soap and water. Additionally, Aqua-Gel will not clog your conduit and can be applied with by brush, pump, or hand.

Short Runs / Indoor

ClearGlide, 31-388, is your solution for indoor and retrofit applications with shorter pulls (75 to 100 ft). It's safe to use with all cable types and clings to cable throughout the pull.

When the install brings you to an office setting, Clear Glide should be your first choice. Not only is it colorless, 31-388 dries to a powdery coating (around 8 hours) and is removed with a broom and dust pan; no more damaged carpet from drips. Reducing clean up gets you on to the next job faster.

When time is money, having the proper tools for the job is critical. Pulling lubes may to be the sleekest technology when compared to the latest 10 Gig cable, but they serve a very important role and protect the investments of your customers. Remember to stock up on Aqua-Gel and ClearGlide before heading to your next install, these minimal costs result in huge time savings.
