This new design of totally dry, Indoor/Outdoor optical fiber cables deliver the highest level of safety as well as versatility of installation environments demanded by transit authorities and global OEMs who are in the process of developing and deploying the most advanced safety systems for train control.

Cable constructions utilizing corrugated steel armoring as well as Aluminum and Steel Interlocking armoring are also available and provide superior crush and rodent protection while still allowing a high level of flexibility and ease of termination.

“New railway and airport infrastructure demands cabling systems that simultaneously deliver the highest levels of safety and reliability while fulfilling the high‐bandwidth requirement necessary to connect equipment, mobile devices, and people. With this range of enhanced cable designs and compliance ratings, Berk‐Tek is uniquely positioned to service the fiber optic cabling needs of the global mass transit industry,” says Beni Blell, RCDD, Vice President of Business Development at Berk‐Tek. “The range of features and benefits of these cables make them also suitable for a variety of campus backbone or industrial facility infrastructure where higher levels of mechanical robustness or fire‐safety are required,” added Blell.
