OCC Field Plug Test Adapter {Video}

by Julie Clark on February 12, 2014

OCC's new Category 6A field terminable plug solves the dilemmas of Near-End Crosstalk, simple termination and overall performance. The simple-to-terminate plug has been designed to terminate without any specialized tools, through a snap-on connector housing and guided termination module.

This Field Terminable Testing video outlines the common methodology currently used to test direct attach links and compares it to the OCC method using the OCC Field Plug Test Adapter. The certified Test Adapter allows installers to accurately test the performance of a direct attach link.

These new Cat6A field terminable plugs were designed to support the high performance requirements of 10 gigabit networks, direct attach devices and wireless access points. OCC's field term plugs meet ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 6A standards for component performance, and can be used in Cat 5e, 6 or 6A links or channels. The TIA 568C standard addresses structured cabling standards for design and implementation, while the C.2 subsection focuses on balanced twisted-pair telecommunication cabling and components standards.
