Corning Optical Communications announces yet another advancement in fiber optic cable.
ALTOS Gel-Filled Cable was Corning’s primary outdoor cable years ago. While popular and widely used, it was a bit messy and time consuming to prep. It was not really “easy” to work with. But we all know, Corning never stops innovating. Corning worked to make it better, and from that effort created the first gel-free cables that revolutionized the industry.
But Corning didn’t stop there. In 2014, Corning launched Altos® Cable with FastAccess™ Technology. The first major cable advancement in many years, this all-dielectric cable made accessing fiber faster and less risky by reducing the number of tools required. The cable jacket literally peals away making installation faster and easier. Think banana peel easy.
Altos® Cable with FastAccess™ Technology is
and available now.
*Corning's patented binderless FastAccess technology refers to the combination of a Corning FastAccess technology jacket with an innovative technology used to bind cable construction through the manufacturing process, eliminating the use of binder yarns and waterblocking tapes.
