Eaton's Rack Solutions for DataComm

by Teddi Strassburger on October 16, 2017

Eaton offers a variety of rack solutions for DataComm applications.

Open Frame Racks

Eaton offers two-post, four-post, fixed wall mount, swing gate wall mount and seismic zone 4 open frame racks and accessories to support networking equipment and cabling for a variety of applications.

Two-Post Racks

Eaton two-post rack products are designed to meet a variety of application requirements for enterprise data centers, colocation providers and network closets. Cable management is one of the critical functions of two-post racks, and Eaton offers both vertical and horizontal cable management systems to increase flexibility and optimize performance.

Two-Post Seismic Racks

Eaton’s seismic 19" and 23” two-post relay rack is designed for areas where shock and vibration are a factor. Seismic enclosures protect your electronics by providing enhanced frame strength and rigidity with reinforced dual uprights. Eaton’s seismic two-post rack is tested to NEBS GR-63-Core Seismic Zone 4 standards and rated for 900 lbs. of equipment.

Four-Post Racks

Whether you’re working in a network closet, server room or data center, a few common needs exist: accessibility to equipment, sufficient airflow, design flexibility and cable management, to name a few. Eaton’s fixed and adjustable depth four-post rack offerings address these needs while also accommodating other Eaton equipment and cable management accessories.

Rack Security Doors

Rack security doors are designed for field installation on existing racks with no need to shut off current equipment. The features of Eaton's rack security doors include:

  • Utilize on two post, non-welded 84” racks
  • Security for 84" rack systems
  • Available in acrylic and perforated steel door options
  • Inner Slide allows for depth adjustment from 5/14” to 9 ¼”
  • Simple key closure for easy access control
  • Suitable for retrofit installations

Rack Security Boots

Rack security boots are designed to restrict unauthorized access to 1U, 2U, 4U, 5U or 20U servers, and can work with any 19” rack or enclosure application. Security boots allow one to fully enclose the top, bottom and sides of server equipment that is currently mounted to the rack.

  • Hardware that attaches inside the enclosure, making the hardware inaccessible when the enclosure is locked
  • Simple key closure for easy access control
  • Mesh doors for equipment visibility
  • Suitable for retrofit installations

Rack Security Patch Panel Protectors

Rack security patch panel protectors help restrict unauthorized access to 1U or 4U patch panels by fully enclosing the front of the panel and the adjacent rack space.

  • Special drop outs on patch panel protectors to protect cable bend radii
  • Simple key closure for easy access control
  • Suitable for retrofit installations
