Just as there are many different kinds of wire and cable for different data connectivity needs, these different kinds of cable work best when used with specific markers or labels taking into account that cables type and usage. Cable and wire identification refers to the markers or labels that are typically affixed to a cable or wire for identification purposes. These markers provide a quick and easy way to identify a cable or wire and can be placed in a location that is easy to read, even in hard-to-reach areas. Three of the most common methods of cable labeling are flags, wraps and heat-shrink tubes, which can be seen below.
