Upsite Technologies®, Inc., has released a new Magnetic Under Rack Panel which is easily installed, moved, re-applied, and adjusted for varying heights - all without the need for tools. Similar to their existing Under Rack Panel, Upsite’s new magnetic panel improves the management of data center airflow - an important best. The difference between the new panel and the existing panel is the magnetic attachment method.
“Sealing the gap between the bottom of the cabinet and the floor is just as
important as installing blanking panels and brush floor grommets,” said Lars Strong, Sr. Engineer at Upsite Technologies. “In some cases, conditioned air bypasses server inlets by flowing under cabinets, in other cases damaging hot spots are created by hot exhaust air recirculation. In both of these scenarios, sealing the gaps under the racks can improve cooling capacity and efficiency, thereby reducing operating costs.”
According to Upsite, the new Magnetic Under Rack Panel offer tool-less application and height adjustments. Height adjustments are achieved by simply tearing away excess material via pre-scored lines on the back of the panels. The Magnetic Under Rack Panel attaches quickly and easily by simply placing the magnets on to the face of the rack. The panel will seal a wide variety of today’s racks, and is a quick way to improve airflow management which supports IT equipment reliability, reduced operating expense, deferred capital expense, and increased cooling capacity.
