  • January 24 - January 25: Corning is offering a FREE training seminar on Fiber Optic Hardware Innovations and Technologies at Accu-Tech Baltimore. This interactive three-hour session will provide installers with a comprehensive overview of the latest hardware options. Corning's expert instructors will focus on the importance of design taking into consideration available space, environment, connector types, fiber capacity and fiber type. Three BICSI (CEC) credits apply. There are four opportunities to attend:

  • March 6th and 7th, 2012: Per customer demand, we are expanding the CCTT course into two separate days of training focused upon your specialization – copper or fiber certification. Each day is a powerful one-day course which covers the current standards and provides hands-on training with the DTX Cable Analyzer. You can register for one or both days of CCTT training as follows:

    • March 6th: UTP Copper Cabling Certification – Includes a review of the current TIA standards for “in-channel” certification of Category 5e up through the recently approved Category 6A. Extensive hands-on with factory supplied DTX Cable Analyzers is provided for in-channel testing and troubleshooting of UTP copper systems.
    • March 7th: Tier 1 and Tier 2 Fiber Certification – Includes an overview of fiber optic basics and current testing standards from both the TIA and IEEE committees. Basic optical loss/length testing plus an intro to OTDRs is taught during this one-day event. Integrated throughout the class are several hands-on exercises with equipment provided by the factory. This includes performing basic loss/length testing (Tier 1) with the DTX-MFMs, and OTDR testing (Tier 2) utilizing the DTX-OTDR modules.
