Mohawk: Copper LAN Cables

Mohawk offers a complete line of Category 6e+ through Category 3 ETL verified copper products, including high pair count. We provide industry leading UTP and F/UTP designs for high-speed LAN applications, including Gigabit Ethernet. All of our copper cables are third-party verified for performance and safety.

In February 2008, TIA ratified the Category 6A standard. This standard sets forth the requirements necessary for enhanced performance of Augmented Category 6 (Cat 6A) cables. The standard extends the frequency of Cat 6A cables to 500 MHz, requires Cat 6A cables to support up to 100 meters, and adds requirements for Alien Crosstalk. Cat 6A cables can support future 10Gbit/s applications on a 4-connector channel. Category 6A cables are fully backward compatible with all the previous categories, including Category 6, 5e and 5.

XGO Augmented Cat 6A UTP

Whether you are facing a high bandwidth installation for a government office, a hospital, a commercial office building or a higher education facility, performance and flexibility are the keys to success. With the complex demands of today's evolving data capabilities, installation of XGO Augmented 6 cable provides assurance of current and future data requirements with one installation.

XGO is a robust, high performance Augmented Category 6A cable, supporting 10GBASE-T applications over a full 100-meter channel, meeting the requirements of the current standard ANSI/TIA-568-C.2. IEEE 802.3an is looking beyond the present, specifying an operating range from 1-500 MHz. Features and benefits to the XGO include:

  • 25 year Warranty (available with MAC program)
  • ETL component compliant cable to ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 6A
  • Sweep tested to 750 MHz for performance beyone 500 MHz
  • Supports any component compliant 6A connectivity
  • XGO’s unique FlexWeb® combined with patented fluted jacket construction isolates the cable pairs and has outstanding pair-to-pair balance for superior headroom and reduced crosstalk
  • Support for 10 Gigabit Ethernet / 10GBASE-T /IEEE 802.3an; fully backwards compatible for 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-T, and 10BASE-T applications
  • This cable and/or its manufacture are covered by patents.  See www.belden.com/p for details.

Fiber Optic Cables

Mohawk AdvanceLite Fiber Optic cables are manufactured and tested in accordance with many industry standards, and are compatible with all major manufacturers’ connectivity hardware. AdvanceLite cables feature fiber that is optimized for laser-based protocols, yet they are still compatible with Legacy LED systems. They provide guaranteed link lengths to handle multi-gigabit transmission while maintaining full compatibility with existing installed FDDI-grade cable.

Mohawk’s Indoor/Outdoor cables are offered in loose tube and 900 μm tight buffered configurations and are offered in all grades of multimode and single-mode up to 144 fibers. These cables are available in plenum OFNP/FT6 and rise OFNR/FT4 and are suitable for both outdoor ducts/conduit as well as in building applications.

VersaLite Indoor/Outdoor Plenum Cables

blue fiber copyVersaLite Indoor/Outdoor Plenum cables have a dry, gell free design. The fibers are surrounded by a water swellable Aramid Yarn for moisture protection as well as added strength. All fiber subunits are color coded for ease of identification. This cable has an all-dialectric design which eliminates the need grounding. VersaLite® Indoor/ Outdoor Plenum cable is also available in an interlocked armor design. This cable is suitable in applications such as Campus backbones, interbuilding installations and Data Centers. Features and recommended applications for these types of fiber include:

Features

  • 2 to 144 fiber
  • Small diameter and bend radius facilitate installation in tight spaces
  • Fibers and subunits are color-coded for ease of identification
  • All-dielectric construction eliminates the need for grounding
  • Fibers grouped into sets of 12 for maximum density

Recommended Applications

  • Campus backbones
  • Interbuilding installations
  • Data centers
  • High density cable trays

Broadcast Cable

Mohawk manufactures high-end camera cables and assemblies. We offer a full end-to-end solution for all of your HDTV cabling needs, including a full variety of SMPTE cables and assemblies to suit any application. Mohawk is the approved OEM for multicore assemblies for Sony, Ikegami, Hitachi, JVC and Panasonic.

Video Triax Cables and Assemblies

For use to interconnect video cameras to related equipment. Triaxial cables are constructed with a solid or stranded center conductor and two isolated shields. The center conductor and the inner isolated shield make up a coaxial cable configuration that functions to carry the video signal. The outer isolated shield can be used for several separate signals by means of multiplexing that may include teleprompter feeds and control for automation such as robotics.

We offer both RG/U types of triaxial cable. The standard sizes include RG59/U and RG11/U types. The RG59/U is the smaller of the two and is generally more flexible. RG11/U has lower attenuation values that will allow longer cable runs. Both cables may be used with various OEM’s Triax Adapter Systems for SD/HD transmission. The Mohawk Dura-Flex jacket was developed to enhance flexibility and provide excellent protection through a wide range of temperatures.
