On January 25th, 2011 we are hosting the first event of our nation-wide Seminar Series in Charlotte, NC. This series will span the entire country bringing opportunities to our customers and business partners in all markets.

Seminar Series

We are offering two seminars: LEED and Data Center Training and In-Building Wireless Solutions. The morning session will focus on LEED and it's applications in the data center market, while the afternoon session highlights In-Building Wireless applications (distributed antenna systems). You have the option of attending both events or picking the seminar which best suits your needs. Not only are these seminars packed with valuable information, they also provide continuing education credits (CECs) for BICSI, BOMI, AIA, and the USGBC. Details here.

What is DAS?

Some may be asking themselves, what is in-building wireless? Our seminar will go into much greater details but in its most basic form:

  • It offers building owners and operators a viable solution for improving celluar coverage and quality of service inside large structures (schools, hotels, high rises).
  • It’s a network of antennas that are placed indoors and are connected with cabling or fiber to a “hub” which allows for multiple wireless service providers to connect radios that transmit at various frequencies.
  • The system is a neutral host that enables multiple wireless service providers to use the network at the same time.

From Connectivity Wireless Solutions:

"Industry analysts predict that over the next seven years telephony customers will continue to migrate towards one multi-purpose communications device, and that this trend will drive wireless service providers towards expanding their in-building wireless coverage footprints. Analysts further estimate that wireless service providers and enterprise customers will expand their capital spending in aggregate of $15 billion for in-building wireless networks by 2013."

Vendor Partners

Our morning session will feature presentations from our LEED Green Associate Mike Long, Corning, Chatsworth Products, Inc, and General Cable focusing on data centers. The afternoon session will consist of presentations from CommScope and our partner Connectivity Wireless Solutions detailing in-building wireless.
