The additional EPDM membrane between the brush layers provides a superior seal to traditional raised floor grommets that utilize a brush-only approach,” states Duke Robertson, CPI Product Manager of Open Systems.  The split, two-piece design of the Raised Floor Grommet is particularly well-suited for retrofit applications as it can be installed around existing cable bundles without disrupting the network.
