Tripp Lite's Wireless Access Point Enclosures Deter Theft without Signal Interference

by Teddi Strassburger on May 20, 2019

(This blog post provides a great overview of one of the newest solutions from Tripp Lite. Need a WAP enclosure? Consider this option. -Teddi)

Tripp Lite, a global manufacturer of power protection and connectivity solutions, has made it convenient to house, mount and protect wireless access points (WAPs), routers and other network components without interfering with signal quality. The new SmartRack® surface-mount enclosures are compatible with Cisco WAPs and include a universal mounting bracket to accommodate most other brands of access points.

Made of heavy-duty impact-resistant plastic, the new indoor enclosures provide physical protection for wireless access points and related equipment. The enclosures have a fully hinged door with a metal key lock to deter theft and offer control of physical access to components. Signal quality of access points is not affected because the enclosures are transparent to wireless signals.

Mounting slots in the back panel facilitate surface mounting to a wall or ceiling. Cutouts allow mounting over wall or telecom outlets for convenient connections, and knockouts provide easy cable access and routing.

“Anyone responsible for maintaining a Wi-Fi network needs a WAP enclosure,” said Craig Watkins, Director of Product Marketing, Racks and Cooling. “The new Tripp Lite enclosures provide a simple way to mount and protect access points to ensure good wireless coverage in corporate offices, schools, retail shops, hotels and other locations that depend on Wi-Fi.”
