General Cable Mobile Apps for Online Design & Calculation

by Julie Clark on May 12, 2014

General Cable's new mobile calculation apps do the work for you. With these tools, you can find answers to your cabling questions quickly and easily. Simplify field calculations and save valuable time with these apps. Download today in the Apple app store and Google Play.

General Cable Voltage Drop Calculator – A quick and easy tool to find maximum circuit distance and minimum conductor size for the required voltage drop. It is designed for contractors, electricians, and other electrical professionals.

General Cable Conduit Fill Calculator – Calculate the minimum conduit size per National Electrical Code. Find quick answers without spending hours on lengthy calculations. All calculations are based on the NEC 2011 edition.

General Cable Ampacity Calculator – Calculate conductor ampacities for different temperature ratings. The ampacity values are taken from the NEC® 2011 ampacity table T310.15 (B) (16).

In this visual demonstration, the Voltage Drop Calculator is a quick and easy tool to find Maximum Circuit Distance and Minimum Conductor Size for the required voltage drop.

The minimum conductor size section will show the required conductor size, actual voltage loss, maximum allowable voltage loss, and maximum amps for the conductor. The amperage values are from the NEC 2011 ampacity table T310.15 (B) (16) 75°C rating. Conductor sizes are determined based on the amperage value provided by the user and not the expected loads which in some scenarios may result in a larger conductor size.

The Maximum Circuit Distance section shows maximum circuit distance, allowable voltage loss, actual voltage loss, and maximum amps of the selected conductor.
