Introducing New Digital Electricity™ Cables from Belden

Let's start by diving into Digital Electricity™ - what is it? Simply put, Digital Electricity is the safe delivery of significant power over a significant distance using small conductors. It combines data and DC power into packets to be transmitted and received, similarly to how data packets travel over enterprise networks. It enables various applications, such as media converters, PoE switches, smart LEDs and wireless access points (WAPs). 

Sounds great, right? In order for Digital Electricity to work properly, you need the right cables. If the cables don't meet minimum performance requirements, the transmitters won't send power through them. Inconsistency in cable or fluctuations in the electrical performance of the cable can trip the fault detection. It's important to ensure you're using the right cables for the job. 

Using their decades of cable design, Belden created the market's first Digital Electricity cable. It was specifically designed for this application, and it's fit for the task. Belden's Digital Electricity cable is available in either copper or hybrid copper/fiber to allow for a variety of markets and applications. It's designed with the right features to safely carry high-voltage power for up to 2,000m without the risk of electrical shock.
