Introducing Tripp Lite's New 3-Phase Solutions

by Teddi Strassburger on October 18, 2017

Data Center_blog.pngToday's commercial environments demand an ever-increasing supply of clean and stable electricity to maintain 24/7 operations. Tripp Lite's newest 3-Phase Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems (UPS) provide the highest level of power protection and conditioning to mission-critical systems, ranging from 20-140kVA, to seamlessly fit within any of your centralized applications.

Before choosing a UPS solution to integrate into an application, it is essential you know the difference between three-phase and single-phase power. First, you should consider the space where the application will be housed. Typically, 3-Phase solutions are installed in larger facilities because they need to be hardwired into the electrical panel, requiring a dedicated room away from the protected equipment. Single-Phase solutions, however, do not require a lot of space because the power is distributed through multiple load capacities on a much smaller scale. Next comes the upfront costs versus the total cost of ownership. While the initial purchase price of a 3-Phase solution might be lower, the installation costs will be significantly higher, seeing as most single-phase solutions are plug-and-play. The plug-and-play feature is great for installation purposes; however, these solutions typically require more servicing and monitoring throughout the life of the UPS. Lastly, keep in mind that power requirements may increase over time. In a 3-Phase solution, everything is restricted to a fixed location, making any kind of scalability difficult and more expensive.

Tripp Lite's Newest 3-Phase Solutions

Tripp Lite's SmartOnline SUT Series UPS is ideal for data centers, telecommunications, computer network and industrial applications. This series has been marked as a high performer for its ability to increase operating efficiency while delivering the highest level of secure, uninterrupted power protection at a low cost. With two rated power levels - 20kVA and 40kVA - and paralleling capability for up to four units, this series offers multiple capacity options to suit even the most demanding load requirements.

The new SmartOnline SV Series, much like the SUT Series, offers one of the highest levels of efficiency, not only keeping costs low, but making it one of the most efficient UPS systems in its class. Also, unlike other models, the SV Series comes pre-installed with the WEBCARDLX, allowing for full remote access for site power and UPS status monitoring, configurations, control and email notifications via secure web browser. Featuring scalable capacities in 20kVA increments, from 20kVA to 140kVA N+1 and a modular design with high-efficiency voltage and frequency independent operation, this on-line UPS is ideal for protecting a wide variety of critical IT systems.
