Superior Essex, a leading manufacturer and supplier of communications cable, is currently showcasing its School of Excellence experience at the 2020 BICSI Winter Expo in Tampa, FL. At the Superior Essex booth, #444, you can see and experience firsthand how future-forward, sustainable cable connects and powers intelligent buildings (and not just any intelligent buildings, but sustainable intelligent buildings!). The star of the show is Superior Essex's Power over Ethernet (PoE) cabling offering, particularly the PowerWise® family of products. PowerWise provides both data and power in a single cable and completely connects and powers the company's booth at the show.
“As industry-leading innovators in the world of structured cabling, we feel it’s our responsibility to teach our partners, our customers and our industry about the numerous and multifaceted benefits of manufacturing and installing sustainable cable,” said Brian Ensign, Vice President of Marketing, Superior Essex Communications, and past BICSI President. “And our School of Excellence elegantly demonstrates this solution for those working in academic built environments and beyond.”
Attendees will also be able to learn about the company’s numerous, industry-leading sustainability efforts. These include Superior Essex being one of only nine companies in the United States to be certified as truly Zero Waste to Landfill; the only cable manufacturer with certified Red List Free products; and the first cable manufacturer with products that contribute points toward LEED® certification, the WELL Building Standard and the Living Product Challenge.
Superior Essex is partnering with Legrand to further demonstrate a real-world replica of both structured cabling solutions and the cabinetry, racks and accessories that pair with them. As part of their shared booth experience, the Legrand team is hosting an active termination speed contest, replicating what their installation crews do out in the field every day.
